Lalit is a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, working under Dr. Zhi-Li Zhang. His research explores ultra-low-latency communication for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs), focusing on Next-Gen 5G, C-V2X, and AI-driven digital twins. With a background in robotics and immersive systems, Lalit has worked on diverse projects, including rural C-V2X connectivity, real-time digital twins using 3D point clouds, and a drone swarm system for monitoring wildfire smoke concentrations. He has prior experience at Nokia Bell Labs and PwC, and brings a systems-thinking approach to building intelligent, connected mobility solutions.
Outside of research, Lalit enjoys playing the piano, skiing, snowboarding, swimming, and diving into video games.
